Bedford Borough Council currently have a opportunity for an experienced qualified Social Worker to take the next step in their professional career.

The role will involve joining a busy, fast paced Integrated Front Door Team ( MASH) whose paramount objective is always a child's well-being and safety.

We are looking for social workers that are ready for a fresh challenge, with the ability to make a real difference to the residents of Bedford borough.


You will be required to have two years of post-qualification experience, preferably in a similar setting.

In this post, you will respond to queries and referrals from a number of different sources and make contact with families and partner agencies.

The skill base required centre on managing thresholds, allocating referrals and decision making to ensure child protection within Bedford Borough.

You will work closely with the Assessment Teams in ensuring children and families are effectively transferred with appropriate risk assessments, priority status and initial recommendations.

As an Advanced Practitioner you will be required to provide day to day support, coaching and supervision to our Referral and Advice Officers who also work within the team.

Alternative flexible working options available / open to discussion

You will be a Qualified Social Worker (DipSW or equivalent) with at least two years post qualifying experience.

Experience of working within a MASH/Referral/Assessment environment would be desirable but not essential. 

You will need excellent communication and organisational skills, and be able to work well under pressure. 

*Market rate supplement £4,600pa (subject to review), welcome & retention payments.

Interviews will be held 23rd & 24th July.
